INGREDIENTS:
- 2 oz. Tequila
- ½ oz. Lime juice
- ½ oz. Rustic Oak Orange Barrel Aged Old Fashioned Mixer
- ½ oz. Mint simple syrup
- Zest of one lime for the rim
- Sea salt for the rim
- Fresh mint for garnish
Mint Simple Syrup:
- ½ Cup granulated sugar
- ½ Cup water
- Handful of fresh mint
DIRECTIONS:
- To make the mint simple syrup, add the sugar, water and mint to a pot, bring to a simmer, remove from the heat and let stand until cooled. Store in the refrigerator overnight and then strain out the mint. Keep covered in the fridge for up to a week.
- To rim the glass, add some sea salt to a shallow dish and add the zest of one lime. Mix together. Run the edge of the cut lime along the rim of a margarita glass and dip the rim into the lime salt. Refrigerate for a few minutes to set.
- Add the tequila, lime juice, orange mixer, and mint simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
- Fill with ice and shake well.
- Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with fresh mint.
