This 1970s-era-inspired cocktail calls for just an equal part of Scotch whiskey and amaretto. Named after the Oscar-winning film "The Godfather". In this variation, we use our sour cherry old-fashioned mixer to add complexity to this classic drink.
Ingredients:
- 1½ oz (45 ml) bourbon, whiskey or blended scotch
- 1 oz (15 ml) amaretto liqueur
- ½ oz (15 ml) Rustic Oak Sour Cherry Old Fashioned mixer
- 2 oz (60 ml) club soda or sparkling water (optional)
- ½ to 1 oz of lemon juice (optional), depending on your preference.
- Garnishes
Steps:
- Pour bourbon or whiskey, amaretto and club soda into an old-fashioned glass with ice cubes.
- Add Sour Cherry Old Fashioned syrup.
- Stir, garnish and enjoy.
Alternative recipe: This recipe can be shaken with 1 egg white to create foam similar to a Whiskey Sour. However, we enjoy it without egg whites and use club soda for a refreshing mouthfeel.
