The classic Negroni recipe traditionally combines equal parts gin, sweet vermouth, and Campari. However, the bitterness of Campari can be overpowering for most people. The recipe has been modified by incorporating soda and extra ice to dilute the bitterness. Rustic Oak old fashioned syrups can be an excellent substitution for Campari. It offers a well-balanced blend of bitterness, floral and spice notes, and sweetness, resulting in a classic and robust cocktail with added complexity.
