Elevate your cocktails with these homemade Luxardo-style cherries, made with Rustic Oak's Sour Cherry cocktail mixer. Our syrup recipe is crafted with demerara sugar, tart cherry juice, spices and bitters. Combine that with the cinnamon, almond and Luxardo cherry liqueur of fancy store bought cocktail cherries and you've got a boozy and deeply flavorful treat. Perfect for Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, dessert garnishes, or as a gift.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lb. Cherries, pitted, stems optional
- 1/2 - 2/3 Cup granulated sugar, depending on how sweet the cherries are
- ½ Cup water
- 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Teaspoon almond extract
- 2 Cinnamon sticks (or 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon)
- ¼ Teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- ½ Cup Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
- ¼ Cup (2 oz) Rustic Oak Sour Cherry Old Fashioned cocktail mixer
DIRECTIONS:
- Add the sugar, water, lemon juice, vanilla, almond, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt to a pot on medium low heat. Stir to dissolve.
- Add the cherries, cook on low, stirring often, for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the Luxardo and the Rustic Oak cherry mixer. Allow to cool.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for about 3 weeks.
