INGREDIENTS:
- 4 oz. Black tea, cooled
- 1 oz. Brown sugar cardamom syrup
- 3 Dashes Rustic Oak Cardamom Bitters *
Brown Sugar Cardamom Syrup
- ¼ Cup light brown sugar
- ¼ Cup water
- 1 Teaspoon ground cardamom**
DIRECTIONS:
- To make the brown sugar cardamom syrup, add the light brown sugar, water and ground cardamom to a pot. Bring it to a simmer and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Allow it to cool and keep in a lidded jar in the refrigerator overnight before straining through a fine mesh sieve, cheesecloth, or coffee filter.
- To make the drink, add cooled black tea, cardamom syrup, and cardamom bitters to a glass filled with ice and stir well.
- Garnish and serve with mini cardamom buns.
Note:
* You may try different recipe variations with other bitters, such as Aromatic Bitters, which are packed with baking spices, or Mocha Bitters, which have cocoa and coffee aromatics.
** If you don't have ground cardamom available, increase the cardamom bitters from 3 dashes to 8 dashes or more. You can prepare the brown sugar syrup and let it chill in the refrigerator.
